Boss of the particles is a video installation where the videos reflected on the walls create an illusion of a tunnel that the viewer steps into. This tunnel represents our limited perception of the world.
The video on the left represents the subjectivity of time and the principle of inaccuracy, according to which certain phenomena of physics cannot be predicted on a very specific level. Through images one often attempts to capture a moment or stop time. By filming the sky and water you can see time passing. But it is exactly the water and the sky that seem endless and unchanging to us, although they are constantly in motion. In this video, the horizon opens up to time that has already passed.
The video in the middle symbolizes this moment and the different dimensions in time. We can only perceive three dimensions, although outside our perceptions other dimensions might exist.
The video on the right symbolizes space and the constant expansion of the universe. Looking out through the window of a train going very fast makes one feel like falling uncontrollably towards the unknown. But the train is moving in a given direction and bound by the laws of physics, just like there is an order in nature and in the universe.
In this sense, the video to the left and the video to the right form a couple. One of them symbolizes the harmony of irregularity and the other order which seems uncontrolled. In the installation the past and the future open up both to the front and to the back. We are standing in the middle wondering about it all.
